Note: He was living in Lindenau, Gross Werder, Prussia at the time of his baptism. His Tiegenhagen marriage record says he was a "Gesell" from "Lingnau". He migrated from Lindenau, Kreis Elbing, Prussia to the Chortitza Colony, S. Russia in 1795 (B. H. Unruh, p. 274; P. Rempel, p. 3). He is listed in the 1797 Chortitza Colony Census, but not in a specific village (P. Rempel, p. 54). In the 1801 Chortitza Colony Census he is listed at Rosenthal #39. He moved to Burwalde #1 in 1803 (B. H. Unruh, p. 213). In the 1808 and Oct 1816 Censuses he is listed at Burwalde #1 (B. H. Unruh, p. 274). He was a tailor.
