O.S. and N.S. refer to Old-Style and New-Style dates. O.S. uses the Gregorian calendar as opposed to the Julian Calendar. Russia used old-style until 1918. Western Europe and colonies switched by the mid-18th century.

Note: In 1923 David was working as a farmer, and was a member of the Church Council in the Mennonite Church in the Yazykovo Colony.
Note: David was also a delegate to the January 1925 Second Martyrs’ Synod in Moscow.
Note: David had been a teacher for 9 years in Russia. His father died shortly after he was born. David was ordained to the Ministry in 1923 in South Russia. He immigrated in 1948 arriving at Hague, SK. 1949 to Saskatoon, SK with his daughters. David and Helena had 10 children.
