Note: He was from Tiegenhof, West Prussia, at the time of his baptism.
Note: He is included in the emigration application of his half-brother, Abraham Heidebrecht. The exact relationship between the two is unknown. He migrated from Prussia to Russia in 1803 with his sister Elisabeth in the company of Aron Schellenberg (b. 24 Aug 1774) #6311 and his family (P. Rempel, p. 61). In the 1808-1809 Molotschna censuses he is listed at Ladekop #20, the home of his brother, Jacob (B. H. Unruh, p. 319).
Note: He was listed at Fuerstenau #9 in the July 1810 and November 1811 Molotschna census, and listed there in 1815 at the time of the birth of his daughter Anna per the 1815-1816 Molotschna Colony Vital Records. In the 1835 Census he is listed at Fuerstenau #9. His year of birth is given as 1779 in the records of H. H. Neufeld #483001, but this seems likely to be incorrect since his birth date is given as 7 Apr 1783 in the Tiegenhagen Mennonite Church records. Registered at Fuerstenau #9 in 1847, 1850, 1857, and 1862.

Marriage note: Dietrich was married by the time the October 1809 Molotschna census was taken. The marriage between Dietrich and Anna Tiessen is based on conjecture. We do not have a marriage record between Dietrich Loewen and Anna Tiessen. First, Anna Tiessen is not listed with her parents in the October 1809 Molotschna census, so it is assumed that she had probably married by then, and her age matches that of Dietrich's spouse Anna. There are no other women named Anna in the October 1809 census that match her age. Second, Dietrich and Anna had a son named Franz, which is Anna Thiessen's father's name (R. D. Thiessen, 16 Sep 2023).
