Notes:

  • Note: BOLDT -Harry of Saskatoon. It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of their father, grandfather and great grandfather on September 7, 2006, at the age of 89 years. Harry was born on his parent's farm at Osler, SK on December 10, 1916. He was the oldest of eight children born to Jacob B. and Margaret (Wiebe) Boldt. Farming was his choice of career at an early age, and he enjoyed it and continued farming until his retirement in 1977. He was known by many for his tidy farm yard and well maintained machinery. Dad met Mom, Edith Rostek at a baseball game and it was love at first fly ball. They were married 61 years, Mom was dad's life. They farmed together, worked on the yard together, and raised their two daughters there. Dad was active in the community of Osler and served on various committees including a trustee on the Altona School board just west of Osler, where he also received his education. He enjoyed hunting with the Peter's brothers of Osler, and after retirement he got hooked on fishing at Weyakwin Lake where dad and mom had a cottage. Upon retirement to Saskatoon, dad and mom settled in their new home on Huron Place. In 1989 they moved to a condominium in Bethany Manor on LaRonge Rd. A year and half after mom's passing, dad moved to Lynne's private care home. Failing health this past spring resulted in dad being hospitalized and then moved to Central Haven Special Care Home. The family wish to thank the dedicated staff of the care homes and RUH for your care, kindness and love for dad. Your commitment to the care of the elderly did not go unnoticed. Mourning his passing are his two daughter, Beverley and Erick Sawatzky of Winnipeg, MB, Judy and Philip Bergen of Abbotsford, BC; grandchildren, Tyler Sawatzky and Angela Plank, Tammy Sawatzky and Reynold Friesen, Marc and Hilary Bergen, Kerry and Yuri Mondal, Alison and Cam Hall; great-grandchildren, Hannah and Benjamin Bergen, Dominic, Emilio and Anika Mondal Bergen. Surviving siblings are Dave (Anne) Boldt, Bill (Annie) Boldt, Martha Schultz, Tillie (Irvin) Abrams, Leonard (Marge) Boldt; in-laws, Kathy Boldt, Omar Friesen, Adina Rostek and Kay Rostek. Mom passed away November 9, 2002 and will be listening to him in Heaven telling her all about what has happened since she was gone. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Northview Community Church, Abbotsford, BC. Project: Casa Angelina Orphanage of Guatemala, where granddaughter, Kerry and her husband, Uri Mondal are project managers; and the Gideons. The Funeral Service will be held at Cornerstone Church, 315 Lenore Drive, Saskatoon, on Tuesday, September 12 at 1:30 p.m. with a reception to follow. Interment will take place at the Osler Church Cemetery, Osler, SK. Arrangements are in the care of MARTENS WARMAN FUNERAL HOME (934-4888).
