Birth note: 1923 Orenburg Census (Kamenka) p40 mistakenly gives his place of birth as Kamenka. CMBoC #3834 also says he was born in Kamenka. Peter told his grandson, Richard Thiessen, that he was born in Kantserovka.
Baptism note: Baptised in the Kamenka Mennonite Brethren Church.
Immigration note: Peter and Anna left Kamenka, Orenburg on 9 July, 1926. They arrived in Southampton, England on 8 September. Anna along with children Peter and Helena left Southampton aboard the S.S. Empress of France on 18 September, arriving in Quebec on 24 September. They settled in Laird, Saskatchewan. Peter had to stay behind with Susanna because she was dealing with trachoma. Peter and Susanne left Southampton on 21 October aboard the Melita, arriving in Quebec City on 29 October 1926, and travelled to Laird, Saskatchewan to join the rest of the family. They moved in 1929 to Melita, MB; 1934 to Marquette, MB; 1943 to East Chilliwack, B.C.; 1957 to Chilliwack, B.C.
Death note: Chilliwack General Hospital
Funeral note: Broadway Mennonite Brethren Church
Burial note: Buried in the Greendale Mennonite Cemetery, Chilliwack, BC.
Note: In 1926 they immigrated to Canada and arrived in Laird, Sask. In 1929 they moved to Melita, Man., and in 1943 to Chilliwack, B.C., where they bought a farm on Annis Road. In 1957 they retired to the town of Chilliwack.
