Search Using the Ship List

The Ship Search page helps search for individuals by going through ship lists. For each landing of one of the immigrant ships, this page will lead toa a list of passengers found in the GRanDMA database.

The list in the left column includes all the properly-entered ship entries in GRanDMA (over 500 different ships). Properly entered ship entries in the GRanDMA database Immigration field must include the word "arrived". They follow the form "[ship-name]; arrived [port-name], for example, S. S. City of Richmond; arrived New York, New York. The Date field contains the arrival date.

When you click on the ship name, a list of the different landings found in GRanDMA will appear. When you select and click on a landing, a list of all arriving passengers in GRanDMA for that ship, for any date or port, is created. If the list is long, it will not be displayed in its entirety.

However, the list can be downloaded as a spreadsheet file (.csv) for further study.

Remember that this is not the entire passenger list for the ship. It only includes the passengers included in GRanDMA.
