Help for the Reasonableness Check

The Reasonableness Check, found in the Reports Menu, looks for dates in an ancestry that are very unlikely, that is, not reasonable. For instance, a death date at age 140 would bear checking. Siblings born 4 months apart would bear checking.

The first column is the Ahnentafel Number for the ancestor whose data are being tested. Only individuals that are flagged for "unreasonable" data are listed. The user sets the limits for what is reasonable by going to the "Settings." The software will check the following against the values chosen by the user:

Is the age at death greater than what is reasonable?
Is the age at marriage less than or greater than what is reasonable?
Are the ages of those getting married unreasonably far apart?
Is the age of the parent at the birth of a child less than or greater than what is reasonable?
Were children born closer together than is reasonable?
Were children born too soon after marriage?
