Help for the Two-Person Search

The ability to search with a pair of names can dramatically improve the efficiency of a search. For example, a search for Jacob Friesen with his spouse, Sarah, will deliver a much more concise list than searching for Jacob Friesen alone.

Three different pair-searches can be made from this form: Husband-Wife, Parent-Child, and Siblings.

For these searches, entries must be made for both persons and a Search Type must be selected.

Note: It is OK to leave some fields blank:
  • For any search, usable results are often possible with only one field completed for each individual. This can be particularly helpful when one does not know the birth surname for the wife.

For example, one might search for "Ben Friesen" in a standard search. The search returns an unwieldy 468 names. However, if the given name of the wife is known, the search can be greatly narrowed. Then, simply enter "Ben" and "Friesen" for the husband and "Eva" for the wife; leave the wife's surname blank if it is unknown. The result is a manageable 8.
