Mennonite Genealogy, Inc. (MGI) is a non-profit corporation, incorporated in California in 2024, to oversee
genealogy-oriented projects related to Mennonites and Hutterites from Prussia and Russia and their descendants.
MGI projects:
GRanDMA
(G enealogical R egistry an d
D atabase of M ennonite A ncestry): GRanDMA is the
genealogical database of Mennonites and Hutterites originating in Prussia and Russia. This project,
begun by Alan Peters,
continues the task of expansion, management, and distribution. (Jay Hubert, Port Townsend, WA
and a host of volunteers.)
G RanDM A OnLine (GMOL) is the web app
(grandmaOnline.org)
for accessing the data in the GRanDMA database
and producing a wide variety of reports. (Ken Ratzlaff, Lawrence, KS.)
MGR (M ennonite G enealogical R esources)
is a website, mgr.mennoniteGenealogy.com
for historical records, their translation and organization.

GDM (G RandMA D atabase M anager) is a
major project to develop custom software for online management of the database master
for GRanDMA. (Tony Isaac, Houston, TX.)
Mennonite DNA Project.
GRanDMA Grants. The Board of Directors of MGI is developing procedures for making grants available
for the acquisition of genealogical information pertinent to GRanDMA. These grants will be funded by
the subscription fees for GRanDMA OnLine and the subscription fees for
the downloads of the Brother's Keeper and gedcom formats of the database.
